The University of Wisconsin and the Police Department have launched an investigation after personal photos and videos of the women’s volleyball team, which should not be made public, were posted online.
The Badgers athletics department issued a statement Wednesday afternoon, saying she contacted the UW-Madison Police Department after a student athlete learned that a photo she had taken of her was circulating on social media.
“UW Athletics is aware that the private photos and videos of UW volleyball student athletes that should never have been shared publicly have been distributed digitally.

“Unauthorized participation is a serious and unwarranted violation of the privacy of student-athletes, including possible violations of university policy and criminal law.”
