Picture A-1, a well-known studio known for such popular games as Sword Art Online and Love is a Battle series, is making NieR: Automata. The anime was released in winter 2023. However, it was announced that the anime will be delayed indefinitely due to the effects of the epidemic. The studio has been silent on production for four months now.
Episode 9 Release Date
The anime lasted until 8 episodes of the winter season and went to an endless ending. On June 23, 2023, the official NieR: Automata anime Twitter account updated the status of the anime. NieR: Automata returns in July and will continue where it left off, releasing four consecutive episodes (Episodes 9-12). NieR: Automata Episode 9 will be released on July 23, 2023 at 9:30 am PT.
Photo Studio A-1 will return for the anime and finally end the long delay and end the anime.
What happened first?
The anime will continue right after the events of Episode 8. If you don’t know the events of Episode 8 or have forgotten them (no one has a brain like Senku from Dr. Stone), here it is small recap. Episode 8 of NieR: Automata Ver 1.1a begins with the Ruler assigning information to 9S and 2B to eliminate A2, but the information on why A2 betrayed YoRHa will remain a secret.
The episode ends on a cliffhanger as 9S tries to hunt down what he thinks is A2 but ends up in a delivery van and is attacked by an unknown entity.
As the authors of each story change, we cannot tell from the events of the game what will happen in the future.

The plot of NieR is set in the distant future, where a proxy war takes place between androids and machines. The story follows two military androids, 2B and 9S, who are put in a fight against a mechanical life form.
The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 11945, where humans have left planet Earth and it has been invaded by aliens. Humans created Androids to fight alien machines, causing the conflict to such an extent that it started an entire war.
