On October 17, 2019, Russian British user Gleb Korablyov launched a live broadcast on the platform. During the broadcast, Korablyov took Saig’s semi-automatic rifle, aimed it at his head, warned someone to wait for his parents to report his suicide, and shot himself in the head. Before committing suicide, Korablyov mentioned a suicide-related meme in Russia.

DISTRIBUTION
On the same day, suicide pictures were published by the Plokhie Novosti 18++ telegram channel (“Bad News 18++”) and a British group [2] [3] with several Russian telegram channels reporting an incident on the same day. [4] [5] At the beginning of October 17, several video discussions were published on the Russian image board 2ch
I was hiding in the UK this morning when I caught a live broadcast of 18-year-old Moscow high school student Gleb Korably (his site in the UK has already been taken over by his mother).
The man shouted “Nyan, bee!” For about three minutes, put his Saiga rifle on his head, and fired his brain. According to the length of the video, the police arrived only 2.5 hours ago.
On October 17, 2019, the YouTube channel GORE was now deleted, which reissued a short video clip “1444” [9] [10], in which the video received more than 151,000 views. three days before YouTube moderators took over [14]
Starting October 20, 2019, the video spread through discussions on social networks. Like Momo, Spanish-speaking Internet users speculated that the video was cursed by the original deep web uploader and that the curse could only be removed from the viewer by commenting on the video’s date. [11] [15] At the time, many users were creating video warning messages. For example, the Twitter user @irkepoc received more than 13,700 retweets and 10,900 likes in two days (shown below, first on the right). [12]
In the following days, 4chan users recorded an influx of videos of the same name (e.g. “1555”, “1443”) containing unknown clips, child pornography and other sensitive material. The anonymous user 4chan provided a translation of a 2-post [7] claiming that the reason for Korably’s suicide was a fight with his girlfriend (shown below right).
On October 20, 2019, the ReignBot YouTube channel online survey announced the video and its “cursed” state, which received more than 280,000 views on November 4, 2019 (shown below left). [14] On the same day, Argentine YouTube commentator and musician Magnus Mefisto shared a video on October 20, 2019, which has received more than 8 million views since November 2, 2019 (shown at bottom right). The viral event was popular with Spanish-speaking users and was attended by many Spanish-speaking youtubers, including famous artists such as El Rincón de Giorgo [16] and DrossRotzank. [17] DrossRotzank ridiculed and criticized YouTube for attacking channels and removing videos for video reporting purposes. [18] [19]
